I just want to see possibly one of my ideas for a creature on MS come to life... which is why I so badly want to show the detailed version my friend wanted to make (we'd both get credit of course). I'm not in this for the win at all (as it said selected designs (not winners) may be incorporated into MS). At least I don't think that meant winners...

To be honest, I don't know why I bothered trying in the first place to try and compromise and 'argue' with admins. I find most to be... completely unyielding. Which is why I said not to mind me in the first place because I figured and ended up knowing this was how it would end up. :/ (Hence why I fear the Banhammer because I am as unyielding as they can be when it comes to fair treatment and I feel this is completely unfair treatment to those that are artistically challenged.)

In any case, I've already pulled out my entry so right now, I'm just blowing off steam. Just ignore me here. The thread is probably not even a place to talk about this but I'm not sure how to get in touch with an admin personally about this otherwise. I really don't want to pull others of MS into this.
It's an art contest, so of course it's going to be judged at least somewhat on artistic merit. That's why we try to have different types of contests, so that someone who can't draw might still have a chance in, say, a writing contest. We've had art contests, writing contests, costume contests, even baking contests.

It would be unfair to everyone else if people were allowed to enter with someone else's art, even if they were given credit. And taking it to an extreme conclusion, someone could hire a professional artist to illustrate their design, and that wouldn't be fair to the people who do their best, even if they're not a great artist. I'm not an artist myself, but I respect anyone who makes the attempt. There is nothing in the contest that says only the most beautiful artwork will win.

As for the completely unyielding, nobody here is that. You've been given polite, respectful responses from mods and admins, and nobody has ever been banned for just expressing their opinion. The fact that we won't change the rules because you feel it's unfair does not mean that we are discriminating against you or refuse to listen or compromise. It means that your suggestion has been considered but it's not feasible for this particular contest. There will be others; maybe in the future we'll have a design contest where you can simply describe your idea and one of our lovely artists can make the sprite, or something like that.

If you truly feel the need to contact an admin or mod about this, you can PM one of us. We answer PMs when we have time and do our best to help users who have questions or concerns.
If you see me posting nonsense, give me a smack and tell me to go write.

I love this idea as I love drawing and sketching! But I'm still a little confused so here's a question:

I know this has been asked a lot and maybe it's just me being... well, me, and not understanding it completely but, two taloned feet. I understand that part. Now, does that mean those two taloned feet are the creatures ONLY feet/limbs? Like... in example take a cat. It has 4 legs. If we were to turn it's front paws into talons, would we still be able to keep it's hind legs or would they need to go? So imagine a cat with two front talons, regular cat hind legs, two sets of wings and two tails. Would that be okay or would the hind legs need to go? :/

I apologize for making you reiterate this a million times. X3 I'm just not fully understanding it for some reason. XD

I just want to make sure if I do enter, that I end up not going out of the guidelines for each creature. :3

Yes, the 2 talons are the only limbs on the creature, like a bird or wyvern. ^_^

Could we make the thread before we have the creature done? I'm nearly done with my Earth Creature but I have info for it already.

You can do that, but if it doesn't have art by the time the contest closes, your entry will be disregarded.

Alright thanks. The pic will be up either later today or tomorrow so no worries about that.

Am I allowed to draw a sketch which same as on the internet? But the design will be different from the original.

No, the design should be solely your own. If you potentially won and your design used someone else's idea, MagiStream could have a copyright issue if we put that creature into the site.
